Mini Rally Challenge announces 2026 tyre partners.

“For their sixth Championship year, the Mini Rally Challenge, the UK’s largest single make rally championship has announced two new tyre partners which will supply control tyres for gravel and asphalt events in 2026.

Two reasons are behind the decision.  One of the core values of the Championship is Accessibility; having favourably priced and easy to source tyres is critical to allow both newcomers and seasoned competitors alike to compete alongside each other, and to remove the cost burden and stress that tyre selection brings.  Secondly, another core value is Fairness; having all competitors using identical high performing tyres removes questioning over competitive advantage.

For gravel events MRF has been selected and for asphalt events, Davanti.

MRF is a tyre that is already widely used in the Championship by over half the field, but by selecting it as the mandatory tyre for all removes any question over competitor advantage, but most importantly has allowed MRF to divert sponsorship benefits in to a preferential tyre price which is identical for all entrants.  The pricing is excellent, and yet another selling point of the already budget orientated Championship which strives to make rallying cheaper.

Davanti was an easy choice for asphalt rounds for two main reasons; it is proven being used by both R50 and R53 Minis in the Mini Challenge Clubsport circuit racing championship, and like MRF, an excellent price has been secured which will bring down the price by 35% over the control tyre in previous years.  The Championship organisers have tested the tyre on an R53 at a Championship event with success, and visited racing at Silverstone to see them in action where they stood up well, and were liked amongst competitors.

The agreement with both MRF and Davanti are for 2026 and 2027, and the tyres will be supplied by

MRF and Slicks respectively who will work with the organisers to have on event tyre fitting.”
